El presente artículo trata de una las pocas pinturas que se salvó del convento carmelitas descalzas la Inmaculada Concepción Mataró (Barcelona), incendiado durante los primeros días julio 1936. Las concomitancias formales y compositivas existentes entre el lienzo, Negación san Pedro, obra Bartolomeo Manfredi (1582-1622), uno principales seguidores Caravaggio, sugieren adscripción cuadro mataronés a manfrediana methodus, exitoso patrón estilístico irradió en primera generación caravaggisti europeos.
